Hye guys!

I'm so bad with keeping this blog alive. Pejam celik pejam celik, dah bulan 8 tiba-tiba. And Nafeesa is just turning 9 months! Time flies when you have a baby. 😂

Promised myself to write for my backdated posts, I will still try my best to do that.

Anyway, remember my trip to Japan? Well, my article has been selected for the Travel Log section and published in AirAsia’s Inflight Magazine, Travel360 for their JULY 2019 issue! I'm so excited!

And now is already August. Means, no more my pictures in AirAsia's Inflight Magazine. 😞

I don't know why, I feel like I have less words nowadays...

See you.

Books | Questions & Tags ☀️

Hello!

I'm back with survey questions. This time around, it is something that has always been dear to my heart. Book! And I'm thinking to limit to only 10 questions per post. So here we go!
  1. The first book that makes you started reading book series? - Twilight Saga 😂 They were good okay. Everyone's teenage crush haha
  2. The best reading experience you have ever had? - Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella, I remembered reading that book during my trip in Australia when I was 17. I read it everywhere, even inside the moving car, which I normally will not do.
  3. Which book has affected or influenced you the most so far? - The Secret Series by Rhonda Byrne.
  4. What do you use as a bookmark? - Literally everything. From photobooth pictures to random card or receipt to proper bookmarks.
  5. When do you usually read? - I don't have a specific time, whenever I have free time I will try to read. I need to make it a habit and decided the best time to read, but haven't find one yet.
  6. Do you remember the first book that you read? - Not really, but when I was in primary school, I loved to read Siri 3 Penyiasat and Siri Lima Penyiasat.
  7. Which do you prefer - paperback, hardcover or e-book? Hardcover.
  8. Do you ever leave "a mark" (deliberate and/or not deliberate) in your books? For example, write in them, underline quotes, coffeemarks or food crumbs and etc. - Depends on what kind of book. Usually not. But I used to highlight Hlovate's books because they have a lot of good quotes!
  9. Do you ever browse through to the last pages in order find out the ending? - No. I don't like spoiler. But I constantly browse through the last pages to check how many pages left.
  10. Do you sell/give away your books or do you keep them, even though you don't like one of them? - I had give away some before. But mostly I keep, because I'm a hoarder 😂 Maybe I might sell or give away some after doing Marie Kondo soon.

See ya!

Ramadan Goals 🌠

06 May 2019

Salam.

Alhamdulillah we have made it to another Ramadan! 💞

To be honest, I don't have specific goals that I want to achieved by the end of the month. I don't want to stress myself out by having unrealistic goals like all the previous Ramadan. Instead, I want to consistently making a progress on my good habits and get rid of my bad habits. I want to be more mindful of my surrounding and hopefully kinder to people around me and myself.

Habits that I've been doing for awhile / want to do even after Ramadan has passed:

  • Smile more.
  • Reading Quran everyday.
  • Memorizing Juzk 30.
  • Tadabbur.
  • Learn about Rasulullah.
  • Terawih at Masjid.
  • Reading books.
  • Eat with the mindful portion.
  • Solat Dhuha & other solat sunat.
  • Listen or read al-mathurat.
  • Listen to podcast.
  • Consistently writing my blog.
  • Consistently journal.
  • Social media detox.
  • Wake up early.
  • Did not sleep after subuh.
  • Donate money or things.
  • Organize my space.

Have a blessing Ramadan everyone! Lets embrace it before it's gone. May we become a better version of ourself.

Love and light,
AS

KonMari Part 1 | Monthly Challenge

01 May 2019

Salam and hye guys!

I'm back and ready to roll (my sleeves) for this month challenge! It's been awhile since I really wanted to declutter and reorganize my space. So I guess this is finally it! Super excited! Who else got excited to declutter and organize their stuffs? I'm sure I'm not the only one 😂 Btw, I just bought the The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying by Marie Kondo and I'm doing this project while reading it.

I've already started the process which I recorded it in my twitter. Let me just recap a little bit.

Marie Kondo day 1. Starting to regret my life decision... Send help. Why am I doing this to myself?

2nd day, trying to discard which one sparks joy. But everything sparks joy to me how?

Day 3, this is getting depressing...

Day 4 guys, letting go is hard... 💔

I would like to believe that I am 35% done with my clothes 🎉

Day 5, everything deserve a second chance, including my clothes.

The beginning of the process was very hard. I get overwhelmed with the amount of clothes I actually accumulated over the years. I am a hoarder, so I kinda kept some of the clothes that I have since I was a kid. To be honest, I decluttered some of my clothes during last Ramadan too. It's hard for me to let everything go at the same time, so I think I might have to follow my own phase. Don't judge. I know that I was supposed to get rid everything that doesn't spark joy anymore. But some clothes are in between spark joy and no longer spark joy, and the condition of the clothes are still good!

I'm selling some of my clothes at Carousell and I'll donate the rest to any charity organization that might benefits from it. Still looking for one.

Anyway, Marie Kondo says that you should sort your belongings into five categories. These help you to sort through your possessions and start discarding things that you don’t need. Having the different categories helps to make your decluttering task a bit less overwhelming.

The five categories are:

  1. Clothing
  2. Books
  3. Paper
  4. Misc
  5. Mementos

So, I'm just going to focus on the first category which is clothing.

Subcategories for clothing:

  1. Tops
  2. Bottoms
  3. Clothes that should be hung
  4. Socks/tights
  5. Underwear
  6. Bags
  7. Accessories
  8. Special event clothing (e.g., swimwear, uniforms)
  9. Shoes
  10. Extra for me : Scarves/ Hijab/ Tudung

I'm gonna update my progress from time to time. This will not by one month challenge, maybe 3 months. I hope I will not exceed 3 months! Praying that I can finish everything as soon as possible. Wish me luck!

To organize and clean space,
AS

10 Things I'd Tell My Teenage Self

24 April 2019

  1. Explore. Don't be afraid to try everything you want to try. Go outside. Explore and experiment more. Learn new skills.
  2. Live in the moment. Don't worry too much about your past or your future.
  3. Life is more than looking for the perfect "romantic" love. Focus on yourself first. Your true love will come when you are ready.
  4. You are your own worst critic.
  5. Your heart will get broken — but it will heal, too.
  6. Be kind to everyone.
  7. Read more books.
  8. Live a healthier lifestyle. Eat moderately, exercise regularly.
  9. Stop wishing away time so things you want to happen will “hurry up.” There will be a time, sooner than you know, when you’ll want to set the clock back
  10. “Everything happens for a reason.” Really, it does.

Happy Birthday B!

15 April 2019

Today is B's birthday. We're just arrived back in Malaysia yesterday, so I don't really have time to prepare anything. It was super random last minute idea that I decided to search for "resepi kek milo cawan microwave".

I am that type of person who will read more than 2 recipes and love to adjust them on my own. But I kinda fail this time as the cake turn out to be "liat"Sebab kita sesuka hati je pi letak milo cereal dalam tu juga. 😂 But B said "sedapnyaaa", eleh ambil hati la tu.

Anyway, to many years together, insyaAllah.

Quick Update

20 March 2019

Hye guys!

Quick little update so I won’t be too lost 😂 It has been a pretty hectic month! I couldn’t find time to write in my journal or to update my blog. If you read my post in the future, just to let you guys know that sometimes I backdated my blog post and sometimes I write wayyy in advance. So yeah. That’s the only way I can try to be consistent.

Anyway, went to Fraser Hill for B’s family day and then to Sungai Besar for my father’s family day. Will talk all about it insyaAllah in the next post. Wanted to edit videos for so long, and trying to be consistent but I can’t find the rhythm yet. Now that I have made the Women’s Day video, I hope I can at least update a video once a week. I’ll see how.

I will be busy with my SIL’s wedding preparations and I have to plan and pack for this spontaneous vacation B decided to go. Fuhh busy. On another note, I’m so thankful for everything that have happened in these past few weeks. 💞

Have a good day everyone! Can't wait to be more productive! ✨

Salam and hye guys!

If you know me personally, you know how much I love watching youtube. I love watching inspiring and uplifting content. Whenever I feel unmotivated or just mentally exhausted, I will watch youtube's video. So here are my top 5 current favourite youtubers.

"Life is an art. Make it your masterpiece."

If I haven't emphasize enough, how much I love this channel and how much it has changed my life. From personal growth to journaling prompts to organizing and decluttering stuffs to creating habits and positives thinking to books, essential oils and all the lifestyles that I imagine my life to be.

The first time I watch her video, I was hooked! A fresh reminder and inspiring content. Showing how Islam is a way of life. Reflections upon reflections, a little bit of Quran and Hadith dose, sometimes she talked about Seerah. It is so amazing how she can reflect and tell a story based on what happened in everyday life. Overall, she makes me want to become a better muslim.

These two are my top 2 favourites. I watch every single one of their videos. Among others that I watch sometimes is Michelle B, Vivy Yusof and Zher Penn. I used to watch a lot of Nigahiga, Wongfu Production and KevJumba. Good old days.

What about you? Do you have any youtubers recommendations?

Family Day @ Fraser's Hill

08 March 2019

Hye guys!

So last month, my husband brought his family to Fraser's Hill. I'm not sure whether I'm getting old or what, but it was super dizzy journey up to the hill! I remember how much I wanted to throw up while having to bear with Nafeesa's crying. I can't hold her to breastfeed cause I was too dizzy. I've never had a morning sickness while pregnant with Nafeesa (alhamdulillah), I can't imagine how it feel like to have nausea everyday. You mommy out there is so strong!

Anyway, before we were driving up to the Fraser's Hill, we had lunch at Aiman Tino's mom restaurant, D' Kerutuk Ry at Kuala Kubu Bharu. The ayam masak merah is so delicious we just had to have more on the way back. And her mom is super friendly, she even remembered us. Funny thing is, we saw Sufian Suhaimi there, and Nafeesa even took some picture with Uncle Pian.

Here are some of the places that we went in Fraser's Hill:

1. Fraser's Clock Tower

This is an essential photo stop, there are a lot of instaworthy spot to take picture, it has old English vibes. You won't miss the clock tower as it stands in center of the old English village square.

2. The Paddock

This place have archery and horse riding.

3. Sanyi Orchid Garden

A flower nursery that specialises in orchids. There are plenty of different species of orchids, you can buy them!

4. Aida Daniya Strawberry Garden

The strawberry ice cream wasn't available, the place is not that impressive to be honest. We just had waffles and drinks.

5. Hemmant Trail & Abu Suradi Trail

There are several hiking trails around the hill. Their entrance is usually marked by signboards. There is also a waterfall but we didn't got the chance to go to there. We went to the shortest trail avaiable which is Hemmant Trail and we continue with Abu Suradi Trail.

6. Allan's Water

This is a former reservoir turned into a boating and fishing attraction. The boating cost RM8 for 15 minutes. We went on Monday, so there is no other people. They are very nice and not really that strict with the timing. We also give the fish food. RM4 for one plastic.

Overall, it was a nice place for some unwind and to have family day or even friends gathering. It is unexpectedly satisfying short-stay destination. We had a lot of fun! We didn't have a bbq because the weather is bad, but we cooked in the kitchen. We had dinner and socks party. Thanks Kak Syah for cooking breakfast everyday.

Looking forward for more family day in the future!

Love,
AS
