Books | Questions & Tags ☀️

Hello!

I'm back with survey questions. This time around, it is something that has always been dear to my heart. Book! And I'm thinking to limit to only 10 questions per post. So here we go!
  1. The first book that makes you started reading book series? - Twilight Saga πŸ˜‚ They were good okay. Everyone's teenage crush haha
  2. The best reading experience you have ever had? - Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella, I remembered reading that book during my trip in Australia when I was 17. I read it everywhere, even inside the moving car, which I normally will not do.
  3. Which book has affected or influenced you the most so far? - The Secret Series by Rhonda Byrne.
  4. What do you use as a bookmark? - Literally everything. From photobooth pictures to random card or receipt to proper bookmarks.
  5. When do you usually read? - I don't have a specific time, whenever I have free time I will try to read. I need to make it a habit and decided the best time to read, but haven't find one yet.
  6. Do you remember the first book that you read? - Not really, but when I was in primary school, I loved to read Siri 3 Penyiasat and Siri Lima Penyiasat.
  7. Which do you prefer - paperback, hardcover or e-book? Hardcover.
  8. Do you ever leave "a mark" (deliberate and/or not deliberate) in your books? For example, write in them, underline quotes, coffeemarks or food crumbs and etc. - Depends on what kind of book. Usually not. But I used to highlight Hlovate's books because they have a lot of good quotes!
  9. Do you ever browse through to the last pages in order find out the ending? - No. I don't like spoiler. But I constantly browse through the last pages to check how many pages left.
  10. Do you sell/give away your books or do you keep them, even though you don't like one of them? - I had give away some before. But mostly I keep, because I'm a hoarder πŸ˜‚ Maybe I might sell or give away some after doing Marie Kondo soon.

See ya!

Ramadan Goals 🌠

06 May 2019

Salam.

Alhamdulillah we have made it to another Ramadan! πŸ’ž

To be honest, I don't have specific goals that I want to achieved by the end of the month. I don't want to stress myself out by having unrealistic goals like all the previous Ramadan. Instead, I want to consistently making a progress on my good habits and get rid of my bad habits. I want to be more mindful of my surrounding and hopefully kinder to people around me and myself.

Habits that I've been doing for awhile / want to do even after Ramadan has passed:

  • Smile more.
  • Reading Quran everyday.
  • Memorizing Juzk 30.
  • Tadabbur.
  • Learn about Rasulullah.
  • Terawih at Masjid.
  • Reading books.
  • Eat with the mindful portion.
  • Solat Dhuha & other solat sunat.
  • Listen or read al-mathurat.
  • Listen to podcast.
  • Consistently writing my blog.
  • Consistently journal.
  • Social media detox.
  • Wake up early.
  • Did not sleep after subuh.
  • Donate money or things.
  • Organize my space.

Have a blessing Ramadan everyone! Lets embrace it before it's gone. May we become a better version of ourself.

Love and light,

Salam and hye guys!

If you know me personally, you know how much I love watching youtube. I love watching inspiring and uplifting content. Whenever I feel unmotivated or just mentally exhausted, I will watch youtube's video. So here are my top 5 current favourite youtubers.

"Life is an art. Make it your masterpiece."

If I haven't emphasize enough, how much I love this channel and how much it has changed my life. From personal growth to journaling prompts to organizing and decluttering stuffs to creating habits and positives thinking to books, essential oils and all the lifestyles that I imagine my life to be.

The first time I watch her video, I was hooked! A fresh reminder and inspiring content. Showing how Islam is a way of life. Reflections upon reflections, a little bit of Quran and Hadith dose, sometimes she talked about Seerah. It is so amazing how she can reflect and tell a story based on what happened in everyday life. Overall, she makes me want to become a better muslim.

These two are my top 2 favourites. I watch every single one of their videos. Among others that I watch sometimes is Michelle B, Vivy Yusof and Zher Penn. I used to watch a lot of Nigahiga, Wongfu Production and KevJumba. Good old days.

What about you? Do you have any youtubers recommendations?

Love and light,

Intentions | Social Medias

04 March 2019

Hye guys.

Remember the first hadith, where everything starts with niat? Well, the same concept should be apply when using our social medias. We get to choose our own intention for having any social media platform that we use. Some might say that their intention is to connect, to build community, to see and share the beauty of our life. Plus, to see the beauty and the authenticity in the lives of those we follow, too. But surely none of our intention is to have our phone buzzing with even more notifications than it already does! Here are some of the way for us to create our intention for social medias.

1. Start with your WHY
  • Why are you on it?
  • What do you hope to get out of it?
  • What do you hope to give through it?
  • What are you aspire to share?
  • Why are you putting in time, effort, and energy to create content and utilize the chosen social media sites?
2. Set Goals
  • What do you want to achieve by using every of your social media? Write down each one of them specifically!
  1. Facebook
  2. Instagram
  3. Twitter
  4. Pinterest
  5. Blog
  6. Tumblr
  7. Youtube
  8. Swarm
3. Focus on the content
  • What type of content do you plan on sharing with your friends or followers?
  • How will this add value to their life?

"By knowing our intention, we’ll know how best to use social media. We'll know when to check in, what to share, who to connect with, which platform to use and how best to connect with them.

We need to use our social media intentionally. Whether or not we want to use social media to enhance our lives, rather than take away from them. Whether we want Facebook and Instagram and Twitter (and every other social platform that comes along behind them) to be intentional tools for ours and our communities’ greatest good . . . or not.

The choice is always yours. And mine."

I want to inspire people, not to plant the seeds of jealousy on others. I hope everyone can take the positive in my posts rather than taking them negatively. Here are some of the reasons why I'm using my social medias.

  1. To share information, knowledge and lifestyle with others.
  2. To find knowledge and get inspire from others.
  3. As my mini diaries, so I can look back at my life and see, okay I'm doing good.
  4. To stay connected with my friends.
I hope you have a good intention why you are on social medias too.

Lots of love,
AS

#3 Ayah | Gratitude Journal 🌠

27 February 2019

Salam lovelies.

It's finally the time to talk about my first love, my superhero, and the world greatest dad, ayah. πŸŒΈ

Since I'm the youngest from my siblings, so you can pretty much expect that I'm the most spoil and manja with my dad. I am (not-so-self-proclaim) her favourite child. 😜 My dad is just like my mom, he is an ideal example on how-a-father-should-look-like. Thus, he kinda put a high bar on the qualities of how my husband (before I married) should be.

My dad is a handyman, he can fix almost everything, he love gardening so we have  a lot of fruits and vegetables in our home, he used to drive me anywhere I want without I'm telling him the direction, he is so brave he used to catch or kill any animals or insects like bats, rats, cockroach. He is so organize, confident, possess a quality of a true leadership. He has the kindest heart; cats, plants, kids and children love him. Every of his grandchild is "cucu atok". He is my role model, I look up to him very much.

During my school years, my dad is the one who pick me up from school. Its a habit to tell him everything in the car. I rant about my teachers, friends and crush to him. And I always share secrets with him and said "don't tell mom". Since I used to always fight with my mum, dad will always back me up. 😝

My dad is someone who will give me things that I needed rather than what I want. Thank you Ayah. πŸ’™ Thank you for loving me a lot and made me who I am today.

I pray for the highest Jannah for you, Ayah. May you always be blessed with lots of rezk, may you live a long life, and may you always be healthy, happy and content. πŸ’™

Salam. Hye guys!

This topic come at the right time for me. I think I've been slacking off a little bit these past few weeks. I had my husband's family day at Fraser Hill last week and then this weekend I had a my father's family day at Sungai Besar. I got not enough rest in between those two family days. I was overwhelm and kinda lost track a bit. I hate being unproductive and tired all the time. So here is my pick-me-up-and-get-back-on-your-feet-back kinda list.

5 THINGS THAT MOTIVATE ME (ALMOST IMMEDIATELY)
  1. Organize my space - Always check my physical environment if I started to feel blergh. You know, clean space equals to clean mind.
  2. Do my laundry - I love the smells of a fresh laundry and folding all my A-List T-shirts.
  3. Write my journal and planner - I really really need to find my time to reflects and planning my days. It helps sorting and clear my mind a lot.
  4. Watching youtube - Watching motivated content keeps me motivated and inspired. This really helps me a lot.
  5. Take a long shower or bath.
What's your pick-yourself-up list?

What Kind of Legacy Are You Leaving the World? 🌟

13 February 2019

Hye guys!

To be honest, I've been avoiding this topic for quite sometimes. Thinking about legacy makes me scared. It means I have to think about death. What will happened after I die?

But then, after doing some research (I mean Googling), this one particular post makes me realized that thinking about legacy it is not about death, it is really about life and living.

That said, this article is not about death. Although thinking about our legacy may remind us of death, it is really about life and living. It is about putting our life into perspective—making conscious choices about the kind of life we want to live and the legacy we wish to leave behind. HERE
So I want to ask you to join me doing this exercise. Write it up somewhere, in your journal, blog or even phone. Knowing what kind of legacy you want to leave behind is actually the backward ways to know what is the purpose of life. My answers are kinda private, I might share it later, but not now.

πŸ’‘ Journal Prompt & Exercises:
  1. Make a list of morals, values, and beliefs that have been important to you throughout your life.
  2. What have you dreamed of doing that you didn’t do yet?
  3. What of your perceptions, knowledge, experience, positive impact and wisdom would you leave as a gift for others? For your children, grandchildren, or best friends?
  4. What do my family members and close friends think of me and what will they remember most about me?
  5. How would you like to remember your Self?

Whatever it is, I pray that I die in good, and everyone will remember the good things about me.

Till then, xoxo

My 2019 Vision Board 🌟

11 February 2019

Salam hye guys!

I’ve been postponing to actually do my 2019 vision board for awhile. This is due to the fact that I’m still trying to figure out my theme and what I really want this year. At first, I wanted this year to be my growth year, both career and personal. But things happened and I have decided that I want to postpone my career growth to next year. So this year is all about personal, relationships, spiritual and hopefully creativity and skills growth ✨

My 2019 vision board is inspired by Kak Sumi’s life πŸ˜‚ Thank you Kak Sumi, you are one of my  favourite idol! I’m too lazy to edit using my laptop so I just use photogrid apps in my iPhone. Fully utilize whatever is free. πŸ˜‚

I want this year to be the growth for my relationships, marriage, daughter, family and friends. Endless celebrations, weddings and vacations. πŸš™πŸ‘°πŸ»

Brunei airport cause insyaAllah we’re going to Brunei in Ramadhan. ✈️

Wardrobe declutter, it’s all about declutter and what’s spark joy for me this year! πŸŒŸ

Zumba and marathon, trying to get back to healthy lifestyle. πŸƒπŸ»‍♀️

Journaling, reading book, read and memorize the Quran, watch lots of youtube and netflix and listening to podcast and sign up for free classes. I want to fully utilize all the free things, apps and classes before I started to invest for myself next year.

Last but not least, I’m planning to have an aqiqah plus birthday party for my baby this year! With the Frozen theme! ❄️

This one I made specifically for my iPhone lockscreen’s wallpaper. ⭐️ I’m loving it!

May this year be awesome year for you and me!

Bye!

Optimistic | Words of Wisdom 🌟

06 February 2019

Salam and hye guys!

This episode of WOW will be a super short one.

Lets start. Optimist. When I was in Form 1, my class name was Optimist. That was the first time I learn that word. And from that moment, I've always like that word and I always associate myself with being an optimist person.
optimistic /Ι’ptΙͺˈmΙͺstΙͺk/
adjective - hopeful and confident about the future.
synonyms: cheerful, cheery, positive, confident, hopeful, sanguine, bullish, buoyant, bright.

Optimism for me is the belief in Qada and Qadar. Thus, optimism is an act of worship.
Qadar is Allah’s knowing of everything in pre-eternity, what happened and what will happen whether good or bad from pre-eternity to past eternity, their time, place and characteristics, and His ordaining and determining them.

Qada is His creation of things and events when their time is due based on His pre-eternal knowledge and ordaining.
When I was in my down year, I forgot to be optimist. I forgot to put my trust in Allah. I used to be very worry about the future until I forgot on what's important, the presence. I used to worry whether I would get married or not, whether I will find a job, worry about losing people that I love. The thing is, for every minute I am worry about the future, I lose sixty seconds of happiness. So I started to learn to do my best in everything I do, I embrace the present and I let go of my worry as I put my trust in Allah. Alhamdulillah, life has been pretty good after that.
πŸ’™ What does it take to be an Optimist?
  1. Focus on solutions, not problems.
  2. Look for opportunities, not excuses.
  3. Keep your eye on the bigger picture.
  4. Develop creative thinking and innovative ways of doing things.
  5. Trust in Allah for results.
  6. Make lots of Doas.
  7. Surround yourself with positive people.
  8. Be present & embrace the moment.

πŸ’‘ Journal Prompt & Exercises:

1. Make your list of Doas
2. Vivid vision exercise - imagine your life 3 years from now & your ideal day

If we believe in Allah's plan, Qada and Qadar, insyaAllah our heart will be at peace. πŸ’™ May all of us find peace and blessings of Allah.

πŸ’™ Love and prayers,
A

Salam and hye!

Today is my birthday! Alhamdulillah I turned 27 this year. I am always the one who is the most excited when it comes to others birthday... but not mine πŸ˜‚ I always feel gloomy when it's my birthday. I always question myself, "What have I done with my life before?" "What do I want to achieve in my life?" "What is my purpose in life?" "I don't know what I want to be" etc.

Plus, since I just gave birth to my baby, I feel like my birthday is not for me, but for my mom. So we should celebrate my mom? Thank you mak! 😘

Anyway, this is so random, since it is my birthday, I feel like listing 27 random facts about me. So here we go.
  1. I really love blue colour. If that wasn't obvious enough. My room is blue, my clothes are blue, my baby girl clothes are blue and basically everything that I own, I want it to be blue. πŸ’™

The handed-down clothes is now applicable to my baby since she have a lot of older cousins. πŸ˜‚ I I love taking my siblings clothes and random things I've found in the house. They didn't even know they have those things until I wear or use them. πŸ˜‚

  8. I'm always an average student. Never the brightest, except when I was in standard 3, I got number 1 in my batch. But other than that, I'm always average. Most of the time I don't think my teachers know my existence. πŸ˜‚

  14. I used to ran really fast. I was always number 1 during my kindergarten's sports day.

#3 Mom | Gratitude Journal 🌠

23 January 2019

Salam lovelies.

Today I want to talk about my superwoman, mak. πŸŒΈ

My mom cooks the most delicious foods ever, I grow up eating delicious food, thank you mak! She can bake and even decorate the cake! She can sew clothes, make smocking dresses, gardening and literally everything that an ideal mother should be able to do. She makes everything look so easy to do! She's kinda sets high standard of how-to-be-a-mother. #pressured I hope I can be half as good as her.

My mom is someone who will tell directly to her daughters, "YOU HAVE PIMPLES ON YOUR FACE" when obviously they know. πŸ˜‚ She is someone who will tell her daughter, "Just bear with it. That's normal." when her daughter was having a contraction pains. #toughlove Words is not her language of love. πŸ˜‚ My mom is like the typical Asean Mom. She doesn't really show her loves with words but trough action.

I was a grumpy teenager. I always fight with my mom. I'm sorry I was a terrible teenager. Sorry mak. We never really say sorry, but my mom will cook meals for me and everything will be back to normal. πŸ’™ I have an awesome childhood mak, thank you.

Now that I'm older, married and have a baby, I'm beginning to understand my mom better. I'm closer to her than ever. I know I'm not her favourite child (although she will never admit it and always argue that she loves everyone equally), but we can have a decent conversation now and I can start telling her secrets. πŸ’™ I am so thankful for my mom.

I pray for the highest Jannah for you, Mak. May you always be healthy and happy. I know I don't really post about you in my social medias, because that's just not my language of love, (and also, you, kakak and kakchik will bahan me later). but I love you a lot! Thank you for always making me feels safe and home. You feels like home Mak. You are my home. πŸ’™

I am so looking forward for this year's blockbusters! πŸŒŸ Although sadly, I can't watch any movies in cinema for the time being, because my baby is still direct breastfeeding. πŸ˜ But anyway, Hollywood already has exciting 2019 planned for us! Disney has three live-action remakes coming our way, Marvel has a new superhero and a grand finale Avengers! If you know me, you know how much I love Disney and Marvel movies. I'm also looking forward for more animation, love, romantic, fantasy and superheroes movies. I don't really like thriller or ghost story, so yeah expect none of them in my list. πŸ˜‚

Five Imaginary Lives πŸ’‘

16 January 2019

Inspired by Lavendaire's video above.

πŸ’‘ If I could live out five imaginary lives, what would I be/do?

1. Become an event planner or have a surprise delivery services

I love decorating and make my own DIY gifts. I helped set up photobooth and candy buffet for my sister's wedding and organize my niece's birthday party. I made my own DIY gifts for Meon and Mas' Long Call ceremony. I made lots of DIY gifts for B before and after marriage. Maybe I should make more DIY gifts this year and do surprise celebration for my family and friends this year. πŸ’™

2. Open a book cafe

With lots of home made donuts, breads, and desserts. People will come to just chill and read books. There will be quiet zone and performing stage for anyone who wants to perform, freely! One of my wildest dream!

3. Have my own volunteer or supportive community, where we share positivity, support each other and help others

I'm still searching for the right community where I can just click, but so far, I haven't found the right one for me. Maybe I should create my own and gather the people but I don't know how.

4. Traveler and do travel vlogs

I love travelling. I want to have my own travel series or something. I want to bring the world to everyone. I want people to see the beauty of Allah's creations, the history, the food, the culture and the people.

5. Film Director

I have always wanted to become a film director, since secondary school. I don't know why. I like the idea of filming. I should really started with creating short films in youtube.

I have so many more dreams lives but let just stick with five for now. When I was studying in university, I kept telling my friends, "I wish I could be..." "I can totally be..." which most of them, is not law related. πŸ˜‚ But perhaps one day I can still do all of these dreams, somehow.
